Reeled doll (Motanka)

Motanka – is both a toy and ancient talisman of the family. Ukrainians believe when you are making a doll, you can ask for anything. First dolls were found 7000 years ago.
Motanka is always made without a face, because it is believed that a face is giving a soul to the toy. That’s why instead of a face, there is a reeled cross – which is a symbol of the Sun. At the end of Masterclass you will know very well how to make beautiful motanka-amulets and describe them in such a way that each of them will look like magic doll.
