Weekend in Kamianets-Podilsky

Day 1
– Morning arrival at Kamianets-Podilsky. Meeting with guide at the railway station.
– Transfer to the Hotel. Check-in.
11:00-14:00 Walking tour through the old part of the medieval Kamianets-Podilsky. You see a lot of interesting objects, here are some of them: Novoplanovsky Bridge, City Hall, Polish magistrate, Triumph Arch, the Orthodox Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Turkish bastion, Wind Gate, the first commercial bank in Podillia, Dominican Church, the “Potocki” house, Russian magistrate , Armenian trading house, St. Nicholas Church, Trinitarian church.
14:00-15:00 Lunch at a restaurant.
15:00-18:00 Excursion to the one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine – Old Fortress museum. Fortress is built on the high rocky banks of the Smotrych river for the defense of the “Running Doe” bridge – the only possible entry into the city. Kamianets is unique in many things: the highest supportless bridge in Europe, Europe’s largest national park “Podil’s’ki Tovtry”.
18:00-19:00 Dinner at a restaurant.

Day 2
08:00-09:00 Breakfast at the hotel.
09:00-13:00 Today, you will see a very beautiful place, called
Archaeological excavations indicate that since ancient times along the banks of the Dniester River many pagan shrines and temples were located here. Until 1981 it housed the eponymous village Bakota, which in connection with the construction of the Dniester wateworks went under water.
But not only with this is the area known, rock monastery remained here as well (end of XII – the middle XIV centuries.) is acting today.

14:00-18:00 Transfer to Khotyn.
Khotyn – Cossack glory city and one of the oldest cities in Bukovyna (first written memory refers to 1001). On a cape in the middle of a kind of amphitheater of Dniester hills is historical and architectural monument (XI-XVIII c.) – the most powerful castle in Eastern Europe, the main place of hostilities Khotynsky War (1621) between the joint Polish-Ukrainian (hetmans K.Hodkevich, P.K.Sagaydachny) and the Turkish-Tatar (Sultan Osman II) troops. Overview of defense wall (II-III century AD), which stretches to south from the eastern part of the city. Tour with a visit to historic sites of the ancient castle.
18:00-19:00 Dinner at a restaurant.
19:00 Departure to Kamianets-Podilsky. Time at leisure in the city.

Day 3
08:00-09:00 Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out.
09:00-13:00 Excursion to the village Kryvche. Here are the remains of the defense castle, built in 1639. High above the Gypsy river is the entrance to the famous Crystal Cave.
It is famous with the fact that its length is more than 23 kilometers. It is the only area of the caves of Borshevsky region available for tourists at any time of year. Also, and this is probably the most important, it is considered one of the most beautiful caves in Ukraine.
